The Roll of Nurses

Section 26 of the Nurses and Midwives Act 1991 provides for the establishment of a Roll of Nurses which is divided into List A and List B.

List A of the Roll includes the names of enrolled nurses
and
List B of the Roll includes the names of enrolled nurses (mothercraft).

The Roll includes information including the person's full name and the qualification(s) on which enrolment was granted.

The addresses of nurses and midwives do not form part of the public Roll.  Addresses and other information about nurses is kept separately and is not available to members of the public.

It is possible for the same person to be listed both as an enrolled nurse and as an enrolled nurse (mothercraft) and, if qualified, as a registered nurse also, if the person has completed the respective programs of education.
