Entry requirements:
Applicants must be •  currently enrolled as nurses in New South Wales, •  must have previously completed one of the courses specified below and •  must have practised in the five year period prior to commencing the course.   The specified entry qualifications are:
•	TAFE NSW course 3238 Certificate IV in Nursing (Enrolled Nurse) course; or
•	TAFE NSW course 4357 Certificate IV in Nursing (Enrolled Nurse) course; or
•	TAFE NSW course 6382 Advanced Certificate in Nursing (Enrolled Nurse) course; or
•	TAFE NSW course 3218 Certificate IV in Conversion/Refresher (Enrolled Nurse); or
•	TAFE NSW course 6398 Advanced Certificate in Conversion (Enrolled Nurse); or
•	a qualification which has been assessed as equivalent, after submission of documents including
	-	an original transcript of the nursing qualification,
	-	references  from previous employers,
	-	documentation of prior experience as an enrolled nurse, and
	-	job descriptions
	The assessment of equivalence would be based on the equivalence of another course when compared with the courses identified above.
	In the first instance, equivalence of another course to the above-mentioned courses would be undertaken by the registered nurse who is coordinating the Statement of Attainment course. On completion of the course, the course coordinator's assessment and all the supporting documents should accompany the student's application to the Board for endorsement to administer medications.

Credit for Prior Study:
Approval has been given for enrolled nurses undertaking this Statement of Attainment to be given recognition for the following three units:
HLTAP401A     Confirm physical health status 
HLTEN502A     Apply effective communication skills in nursing practice
HLTEN509A     Apply legal and ethical parameters to nursing practice


Subjects required to be undertaken:
In order to be granted endorsment to administer medications, students are required to complete the folllowing units:
HLTAP501A      Analyse health information 
HLTEN507A      Administer and monitor medications in the work environment
17591A           Workplace Clinical Practice


Duration of Course:
Students are required to complete the course within six months of commencement.
